Will I get wet parasailing?

No, our guests take off and land from the platform of our state of the art coast guard inspected parasail boat. Comfortable attire is suggested.

Do I need to pay for a park ticket and/or parking?

No, guests coming to Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre must merely mention to the Disney Gate attendants that they have a reservation at our facility.

Do I need to be a guest of Disney’s Contemporary Resort?

No. Guests do not need to be staying at any of the Disney Resorts.

What are the restrictions?

Guests renting a PWC must be 18 years of age (with picture ID) to rent, only 16 years of age to drive (with picture ID), and any age to ride along. Up to 3 people or 400lb.

Guests parasailing (single and tandem) must be 6 years of age. Weight or combined weight must be between 130lb and 330lb.

Wakeboard/waterski/ and tubing guests are welcome at any age! (Based on parental discretion)

Do I need reservations?

Reservations are not required, but strongly encouraged. You may call us at 407.939.0754.

What is the cancelation policy?

24 hours. We reserve the right to cancel due to inclement weather (i.e. lightning, reduced visibility, etc ).

What discounts are available?

We offer a 10% discount to the following: Disney Vacation Club, AAA cardholders, Military, Annual Pass Holders & D23 members. Cast member discounts on activities (percentages vary seasonally)

What should I bring?

Identification, disposable/waterproof camera (we also offer a parasail photo package), form of payment, comfortable attire, footwear you might wear to a park. Don’t forget sunscreen!

Will I be with strangers?

No. Boat rentals are private. Parasail Boat holds six guests, fliers have the priority. If there is space, riders may come along at no charge (not guaranteed).

How long has your company been in business?

Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre opened on June 1st,1998. In the beginning we only  offered Parasailing and Water Skiing, years later on April 1st, 2002 Disney approved us to rent Personal Watercraft as well.

Who is Sammy Duvall?

Sammy, a six time world champion waterskier, was ranked #1 in the world for 17 straight seasons. Sammy’s legacy continues at the watersports centre at the Contemporary Resort, as well as the Curl. Curl is the ultimate sunglass and clothing store located on Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney.

What should I look for when choosing a Watersports company?

Experience, Equipment, Location! Sammy Duvall was the World Champion Water Skier and he has hand picked an elite group of qualified and friendly instructors. Don’t be shy, ask what Experience your instructor has? You will find that our Parasailing Captains are both US Coast Guard Master Captain’s with over 15 years of experience each! You will find that many of our Ski Boat Instructors were/are on the Pro Tour, show teams, ski camps or Team Riders. For Equipment, we receive new Master Craft boats every 250 hours and feature brand leader, Connelly Skis & Wake Boards. Our Location at the Four Diamond rated Disney’s Contemporary Resort marina is what sets us apart from other watersports operations. Not only do you have Space Mountain as a back drop, but we have a section of Bay Lake buoyed off just for us and we have Disney’s “Lake Patrol” ensuring the highest level of safety on the lake.
